Tips for improving prompts

I completed the Prompt Engineering training. To be honest, before this I didn't really even know what a prompt was (in this context), now I'm thinking completely differently about how I ask questions of AI agents!

And it seems to be working smile I recently posed a question in co-pilot and the response started with: "That’s a strong brief ..." Look at me go!

I have also noticed how tweaking prompts, and being specific about what I want, can make a big difference to the quality of the response. Building on the training, I'm really interested to hear other people's tips for improving prompts.

Hi Patty! Thanks for sharing this, and congratulations on completing the training! It's great to hear it's changed how you approach AI tools, and "That's a strong brief" is lovely feedback to get. You've spotted the key point: being specific about your task, context, and desired format makes a big difference.

If you'd like to build on this, our other computational skills courses are a good next step, including the NLP and AI courses and the Code Anxiety Club, which explores a new topic of interest every two weeks. Looking forward to seeing what tips others share too!
